Mount Rinjani 2 Days 1 Night Summit

Embark on an unforgettable 2-day, 1-night trekking adventure to the summit of Mount Rinjani, Indonesia’s second-highest volcano. This trek begins and ends in Sembalun Village, offering stunning landscapes, challenging climbs, and the ultimate sunrise summit experience.

Overview

The trek starts from Sembalun Village at 1,100 meters above sea level. This route is known for its open meadows and long, sun-exposed paths. As you make your way to the crater rim at 2,600 meters, you will need to conquer five steep hills—each one demanding strength and determination.

On the second day, the real challenge begins. At 2:00 a.m., you’ll start the final climb to the summit, reaching 3,726 meters just in time to witness a magical sunrise.

Trekking Itinerary

Day 1 – Climbing to Sembalun Crater Rim

Approximately 7 hours trekking, 1700m ascent.

Morning:

  • Travel to Sembalun Village: Pickup and registration.
  • Start Trek: Sembalun Village → Pos 1 → Pos 2 → Pos 3 with rest and snacks.
  • Lunch: Hot meal at Pos 3 (Pada Balong).

Afternoon:

  • Ascent to Crater Rim: ~3 hours of steep climb, multiple rest stops.

Evening:

  • Arrival: Tents set up, dinner prepared, sunset views.
  • Early Rest: Sleep early for the 2 AM summit trek.

Day 2 – Summit Climb & Return

10 hours trekking, 1042m ascent, 2757m descent

  • 2:00 AM: Wake-up and light breakfast.
  • 2:30 AM: Begin summit climb (3–4 hours).
  • 5:30–6:00 AM: Reach the summit for sunrise and photos.
  • 7:00 AM: Descend back to campsite for brunch.
  • After brunch: Trek down to Sembalun (~5–6 hrs).
  • Return to Senaru: Transport back to the office/hotel.

Note: The bonus trips (waterfalls/traditional house/coffee plantation) are available if you arrive in Lombok at least 7 hours before sunset. If arriving 1–2 hours before sunset, you can only choose one: either the waterfall or the traditional house visit.
